18 Resources for Web Design

(This post is for Sayz from Sayzlim.net who wants to know more about website design. Sayz is an aspiring professional blogger and already has a good grasp of what comes with a great blog design. Of course if you’re a bit more direct feel free to hire a designer.)

Every designer has their “toolbox” of sites, programs, etc. that gets them through their tasks. In this post, I’d like to list my links for getting designs done.

Designer’s Blogs

The following are some blogs by interesting designers, which might not necessarily always carry design-related posts.

Design Related Blogs

Here are some design related blogs that carry posts about design theory, tutorials, and general design tips.

Design Galleries

Part of every great designer’s toolbox is inspiration. I get my inspiration from web design galleries.

Code Snippets and Collections

I don’t code everything by hand. Sometimes I use code snippets.

What are your resources for website design? What do you find is your most frequent challenge in learning new things or designing for the web?

That is a huge list there Sayz. It’s good if you have the talent in doing web design because it is just my cup of tea. Even doing tweaking of the themes take me days to do it.

I visited a few of the design related blogs that you recommended and I must say it is worth the time reading the articles. Thanks for sharing your toolbox.

Hi Corey. This is a great list. Especially the ones carrying posts on design tips. I dabble in design and it’s always good to check yourself in the mirror, so to speak.

    Hi Corey
Came over from “ProBlgDesign” and the review of Elegant Themes.
I agree with everything you say about Elegant Themes… best $20 I ever spent.
Just got to find the time to upload and configure the eBusiness theme.

You have a great looking site here by the way.

I like the “Notify me of followup comments via e-mail”. It really allows commenters to get involved in what others are saying and I’ve installed it on my site.

The “comment luv” is also a great idea, which I will be adding soon.
